State College, PA — One hundred and twenty-three (123) participants representing behavioral health providers from across the BHARP network participated in Seeking Safety and Advanced Seeking Safety trainings held April 7–8, 2026 at Toftrees Golf Resort in State College. The training was provided through Treatment Innovations, the developer of the treatment model.  The presenter was Gabriella Grant, MA who is the Director at the California Center of Excellence for Trauma Informed Care.

Seeking Safety is an evidence-based, present-focused counseling model.  The sessions focused on practical, evidence-based strategies for supporting individuals coping with trauma and substance use– offering both powerful insights and hands on tools.   Advanced Seeking Safety participants learned about adapting the model for different populations and deepening trauma approaches.   Participants left feeling energized connected and equipped to bring these skills back to their communities.

BHARP extends special appreciation to Dennis Bembenic, Community Relations Liaison at The Meadows Psychiatric Center, for sponsoring the continuing education credits (CEUs) for participants.

This training reflects BHARP’s continued commitment to advancing trauma-informed care across its provider network and ensuring that children and families throughout the region have access to high-quality, evidence-based behavioral health services.
