As part of their on-going expansion, Penn Highlands DuBois East Campus is scheduled to open the new Stern Center for Behavioral Health early this fall. The $22 million dollar hospital is specifically designed to treat the behavioral health needs of children and adolescents. That includes those within the BHARP coverage area, particularly Clearfield and Jefferson Counties.
A staff of licensed professionals will develop individualized and structured treatment plans that will address the unique behavioral health needs of children and adolescents. Designed to keep patients safe and comfortable, the hospital features private in-patient rooms, outpatient counseling, group therapy rooms, play therapy rooms, a calming seclusion room and a classroom for continued learning, among other amenities.
Recently, BHARP staff members, including BHARP CEO Sally Walker, toured the soon-to-open facility which will greatly benefit those within the BHARP community.
The next phase of this project will include additional treatment facilities for adults in the substance abuse treatment unit. The new Stern Center, along with other additional planned projects, is part of Penn Highlands continuing growth within several central Pennsylvania counties.
