State College, PA – On October 25, 2022, the Behavioral Health Alliance of Rural Pennsylvania (BHARP) and Community Care Behavioral Health Organization held a recognition ceremony in State College, Pennsylvania, to celebrate Crossroads Counseling’s trauma re-certification. This follows Crossroads’ participation in the North Central Trauma Informed Care Initiative and exemplary achievement in completing the program.
“Crossroads and their staff have done an incredible job of investing time and energy into building this resource for our community. Far too many individuals who seek mental health and/or drug and alcohol treatment have also experienced trauma in their lifetime. Being able to address overall wellness will be critical in helping the individuals we serve on their path to long-term recovery.” said Cathy Arbogast, Drug and Alcohol Program Administrator and Acting MH/ID/EI – D&A Administrator, regarding the recertification.
The providers involved in the program work to achieve expertise in trauma informed care, which involves trauma-specific treatment for individuals. They also create a trauma informed care culture within their organization. Additionally, one of their other goals is to successfully promote safety for staff and individuals within the program.
