Pottsville, PA – On May 2, 2023, the Behavioral Health Alliance of Rural Pennsylvania (BHARP) and Community Care Behavioral Health Organization held a recognition ceremony in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, to celebrate the Clinical Outcomes Group, Inc.’s (COGI) trauma re-certification.  This follows COGI’s participation in the North Central Trauma Informed Care Initiative and exemplary achievement in completing the program.

Multiple people and several news organizations turned out to recognize COGI’s achievements at the event as well.

“90 percent of our clients experience some kind of trauma in their lifetime, which is often an obstacle in getting sober or getting better mentally. So, we offer specialized training with our staff so that they are better prepared to deal with the clients where they are instead of where we think we are,” said Alicia Fleischut, Executive Director of COGI.

The providers involved in the program work to achieve expertise in trauma informed care, which involves trauma-specific treatment for individuals.  They also create a trauma informed care culture within their organization.  Additionally, one of their other goals is to successfully promote safety for staff and individuals within the program.
